What Determines Your Season
Color analysis measures four traits of your natural coloring. Each trait narrows down which of the 12 seasons best describes you.
🌡️
Undertone
The underlying warmth or coolness in your skin. Warm undertones lean golden or peachy; cool undertones lean pink or blueish; neutral sits between.
WarmNeutralCool
🎚️
Depth
How light or deep your overall coloring is — hair, skin, and eyes combined. Light Spring is different from Deep Autumn for a reason.

✨
Chroma
How muted or clear your coloring is. Soft seasons look best in dusty, muted tones. Bright seasons pop in vivid, saturated colors.

🔲
Contrast
The difference between your lightest and darkest features. High contrast: dark hair + light skin. Low contrast: similar depth across features.

Frequently Asked Questions
What color season am I?
Your color season depends on four traits: your skin's undertone (warm, cool, or neutral), depth (light to deep), chroma (muted or clear), and contrast (the difference between your lightest and darkest features). The 12-season Sci/Art system maps these traits to a specific season — like Soft Autumn, True Winter, or Bright Spring — each with a palette of colors that harmonize with your natural coloring. Take the free quiz above to find yours.
What are the 12 color seasons?
The 12 seasons are: Light Spring, True Spring, Bright Spring, Light Summer, True Summer, Soft Summer, Soft Autumn, True Autumn, Deep Autumn, Bright Winter, True Winter, and Deep Winter. Each has a unique palette — warm or cool, muted or bright, light or deep — that complements that coloring type.
How accurate is an online color analysis quiz?
A well-designed online quiz reaches about 80–85% accuracy for most people. The main limitations are lighting conditions and self-assessment of undertone. For the most accurate result, answer in natural daylight. If you've already had a professional in-person color analysis, you can skip the quiz and enter your season directly in TruHue.
What's the difference between 4-season and 12-season color analysis?
The 4-season system (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) groups people by warm/cool and light/dark. The 12-season Sci/Art system adds a third axis — chroma (muted vs. clear) — creating three sub-seasons per parent. This matters because a Soft Autumn and a Deep Autumn have very different best colors, even though both are "Autumn." The 12-season system gives much better product recommendations.
Is the TruHue color quiz free?
